India All Set for FIBA U16 Women’s Asia Cup 2025 Division B Challenge
After winning the tournament in 2017 as hosts, the Indian team qualified to Division A, finishing 5th (i.e. last) in 2022. The team was forced to skip the 2023 edition due to administrative issues.
The stage is set for the FIBA U16 Women’s Asia Cup 2025 – Division B, and all eyes will be on India as the young cagers begin their campaign in Group A this week.
The countdown is on as India prepares to return to the FIBA U16 Women’s Asia Cup 2025, Division B, set to take place in Malaysia from September 13–19.

A Golden Chance for India’s Young Stars
The tournament is more than just a platform for medals; it is a crucial stepping stone for the next generation of women’s basketball talent in India. Division B offers the team an opportunity to gain international exposure, sharpen their skills against diverse opponents, and once again push for promotion to Division A.
India has been drawn into Group A alongside Iran, Uzbekistan, and Samoa.
Each opponent brings a different challenge, but India enters as one of the favorites to advance to the knockout stages.

Led by captain Reva Amit Kulkarni and vice-captain Viha Reddy Jonnalagadda, the Indian squad is backed by a hungry roster of emerging talent. India will look to push for wins and aim to make a strong statement on the continental stage.

With former India star Anitha Paul Durai as the Head Coach, the squad will aim to benefit from her vast international experience. She will provide both leadership and inspiration as the team embarks on its campaign in Malaysia. Rohit Kumar will serve as Assistant Coach, and Uma Kant Singh as Coach.
