Results along expected lines
Overall, India’s results are largely along expected lines.
The women’s 5v5 team did well to win its first two games, considering it was competing internationally after a long layoff.
The women’s 3x3 team lost both its round-robin pool games but the lenient format of the competition meant that it progressed to the pre-quarterfinals nonetheless. Once there, India easily beat a very average Malaysia team before getting overwhelmed by Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals.
In the men’s 3x3 division, there were hopes from the talented quartet of winning a medal, but the team lost close-fought games to China (15-18) and Iran (17-19) to finish 10th in the final standings.
