YMCA Secunderabad Alumni Under-10 Basketball Tournament 2015- School and Club Winners and runners up
Secunderabad, 26th July: The YMCA Secunderabad Alumni boys under 10 years basketball tournament for schools and clubs concluded last week in the city. The event was sponsored by Trinity Basketball Promotions. MGM High School ‘B’ reigned supreme in the School segment, whereas FIBA Club clinched the title in the Clubs Segment of the YMCA Secunderabad Basketball Alumni Under-10 Years Basketball tournament at the event held at YMCA Secunderabad on 25th and 26th July 2015.
SCHOOLS: MGM High School ‘B’ trounced Chirec Public School and Delhi Public school in the three team Super League Finals to be crowned Champions. MGM High School ‘B’ scored a hard fought 14 – 10 victory over Chirec Public after comfortably leading 8 – 0 at half time. Hemanth was the star for MGM scoring 8 points, for Chirec, Prerith played well to score 4 points. MGM also comfortably trounced Delhi Public School, Hyderabad 22 – 12, after leading 14 – 6 at half time. Hemanth and Tanish scored 8 points each for MGM, whereas Arjun played brilliantly to score 10 points. In the other Super League Finals match, Delhi Public School, Hyderabad won a thrilling come from behind 8 – 6 game over Chirec Public School after trailing 2 - 6 at half time to clinch 2nd Place. With just 10 seconds left for the match, both the teams were locked 6 – 6 when Kritin of Delhi Public School scored a 2-pointer to clinch the match. 3-team Super League Finals 1. MGM High School ‘B’ 14 (Hemanth – 8) beat Chirec Public School 10 (Prerith – 4) Halt time: 8 – 0. 2. MGM High School ‘B’ 22 (Hemanth – 8, tanish – 8) beat Delhi Public School, Hyderabad 12 (Arjun – 10) Half time: 14 – 6. 3. Delhi Public School, Hyderabad 8 (Arjun – 6) beat Chirec Public School 6 (Arya – 4) Half time: 2 – 6. CLUBS: FIBA Club scored a comfortable 16 – 4 win over AFOCH’s Club after leading 6 – 4 at half time. Akshay played brilliantly for FIBA to score 10 points whereas Sai and Rishith scored 2 points each for AFOCH’s Club. Earlier in the semi finals, FIBA scored a comfortable 14 – 2 win over ALL Star ‘A’ whereas AFOCH’s Club scored a thrilling 12 – 10 win over KVBR ‘A’. Finals: 1. FIBA 16 (Akshay – 10) beat AFOCH’s Club 4 (Sai – 2, Rishith – 2) Half time: 6 – 4.
Semi finals:
1. FIBA 14 (Shashank – 8) beat All Star ‘A’ 2 (Jaswanth – 2) Half time: 4 – 0. 2. AFOCH’s Club 12 (Prateek – 6) beat All Star ‘A’ 10 (Nischal – 4) Half time: 4 – 6.
YMCA Basketball Alumni comprising of Mr. Md. Rizwan (represented India in Asian Games thrice and Captain of Indian team), Mr. LC Umakanth (represented India in SAF Games), Mr. BM Vinay Sagar (represented India in School Games), Mr. Norman Isaac (FIBA Commissioner) and many others who represented the State team presented the certificates, medals and trophies.
