Indian basketball player Vijay Sule will continue his professional career in Europe after signing with BC Tbilisi BTB for the 2026–27 season. The Georgia-based club will compete in Armenia’s ProBasket A-League, the country’s top men’s official basketball league.
Opportunity Emerged Late in the Off-Season
Sule said the chance to play emerged towards the end of the offseason, after he had spent time speaking with teams across Europe as a free agent.
“I was a free agent going into this off-season, and I was speaking to teams all across Europe. This is an opportunity that came about, honestly quite recently, towards the end of the off-season,” Sule told Ekalavyas.
The opportunity to play in Armenia’s top division caught his attention, particularly because of the league’s international composition. The 10-team competition, launched in 2017, features clubs from Armenia, Georgia, the United States, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Sule said the participation of teams from neighbouring countries, including Georgia, was another factor in his decision to join the league.
Season Schedule
The season tipped off on November 1 and will conclude in April, with Sule signing for the duration of the campaign. He will be based in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, during the season.
Before this move, Sule played for US Titans in Lithuania’s Kaunas League. He also had a short stint in Thailand.
BC Tbilisi BTB’s participation in the ProBasket A-League brings the club into an international competition that extends beyond Armenia. The league will be sponsored by the Armenia Basketball Foundation, established in California, United States, in cooperation with the Basketball Federation of Armenia.
For Sule, the move offers an opportunity to compete in another European league.
Where to watch?
All the games will be live-streamed on the Probasket Armenia A-League YouTube channel.
