Jomon For Alapuzha Against Ernakulum In The State Senior Basketball Championship

Kanhagad 12th, Dec 2014: In two Exciting matches of the day in Group A and Group B men division defending Champions Ernakulum after trailing 30-36 at the half time came on to beat Alapuzha 64-53. While in a group B match Kollam who lost to Thiruvanthapuram yesterday played an exciting encounter  and defeated Kozhikode 61-56 today. The games of the 60th Senior State Basketball Championship for Men and Women were played at the twin Basketball courts of the GVHSS FloodLight Stadium here at Kanhagad.

​In women section the quarter finalist were the ​last year champions Thiruvanthapuram along with Alapuzha from group A Palakkad and Kannur from B,Thrssur and Kottayam from group C teams and Ernakulum and Kozhikode from D confirmed  for the quarter finalist line up.

On the second day in the women's section defending champions Thiruvanthapuram anchored by international players Jeena P S and Anjanna P G had no difficulty in beating Wayand 46-12 while Kottayam beat Malapuram 53-13 In men's division in the morning. Thrissur beat Wayanad 37-23, Idukki beat Kannur 78-50 and the day before matches were Ernakulum beat Pathanamthitta 59-41 and Thiruvanthapuram beat Kollam 60-52

P C Antony Honuring By P Kunjiaman MLA At The State Senior Basketball Championship

P C Antony who will ​retiring from Kerala State Sports Council on January 31st after a successful ​16 years of Service and this man who recently took the Kozhikode University to an​ All India Title after a gap of 12 years was honored today by the Trikkaripur MLA P Kunjiraman at the venue of the Kerala ​State Senior Basketball Championship He was one of the two only FIBA level 2 coaches from ​Kerala He was also instrumental in bringing Kerala Bronze in the recently concluded youth National ​Cha​mp​i​onship, he also served as the Head coach for ​the Indian U19 junior team that participated in the Asian Championship in Jordan and also the ​asst coach with the Indian​ Boys U​18 team in 2002 ​at the Asian Basketball Championship ​apart from the several national Championships.
