VIBGYOR VIVA 16: Bengaluru Teams Clinch Top Honours at All-India Inter-School Basketball Championship 2024
Delhi Public School, South, in the boys' section and Vydehi School, in girls, were given cash prizes worth ₹75,000/- each, with the first and second runners up winning ₹50,000/- and ₹25,000/-.
Pune, December 8, 2024: On Saturday, December 7, the vibrant plastic courts of Vibgyor School, Balewadi, Pune, came alive with the energy of young basketball enthusiasts. The final phase of the VIBGYOR VIVA 16 All-India Inter-School 3x3 Basketball Championship saw 14-year-olds battle it out for the coveted first-place title and substantial prize purses.
Organized by the Vibgyor Group of Schools, a prominent K-12 education chain celebrating its 16th year, this event marked a milestone in India’s school basketball ecosystem. The championship, endorsed by FIBA 3x3, provided young players an opportunity to compete at international standards, enhancing the stature of school basketball in the country.
Adding to its inclusivity, the event also featured a Wheelchair Basketball Exhibition Match for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), promoting equality and sportsmanship. Current U18 international women’s basketball player Aanaya Bhavsar was the chief guest for the finals.
Both the Boys’ and Girls’ teams from Bengaluru emerged as champions, each securing the first-place position and a cash prize of ₹75,000.
