Tamil Nadu Men and Indian Railways Women win the 68th Senior National Championship

Chennai, 24th January 2018: The final day of the 68th National Basketball Championship for Men and Women continued to see some fast and furious action in the finals.
The finals of the women’s 68th Senior National Basketball Championship saw Indian Railways take on Chhattisgarh. Indian Railways were dominant from the beginning and came away with the victory. The final score at the end of all four quarters was 100-71. The top scorer for Indian Railways was their Captain Navaneetha P U (no 10) with 30 points. While the top scorer for Chhattisgarh was Poonam Chaturvedi (no 10) with 27 points.

The finals of the men's 68th Senior National Basketball Championship was an equally matched competition between the Services team who came into the Championship in Level 2 and climbed there way upto the top and finally landed in the finals against a dominant Tamil Nadu side. Tamil Nadu beat Services 94-86, they won the finals and the Championship much like any other game they played but Services was by far the best opponent they got. Joginder Singh led the Services team with 23points with four three pointers. For Tamil Nadu their veteran international forward Rikin Jethani showed up and dropped 25 points leading them to the Championship.
