South Zone University Basketball Tournament 2016

Tenhipallam, 14th December, 2016: Hindustan University, Chennai defeated  MG university 86-78 in their last encounter in the league round to claim the South Zone title as they finished with wins in all their matches at the South Zone University Basketball Tournament for Women at  Calicut University, Tenhipallam.

Calicut University finished runner up with 2 wins and a loss, MG University finished with 1 win and 2 losses and Kannur finished 4th. All four have qualified for the All India Inter University Basketball to be held  KIIT, Bhubaneshwar from December 25-28, 2016.
