Rajasthan Basketball League Season 4 tips off in Bhilwara

The unique effort by promoters Universal Sports Club, is seeing 8 men's teams and 4 women's teams vie for top honours

The basketball-loving textile city of Bhilwara is seeing the top hoopers from the State, battle it out in the Rajasthan Basketball League.

This is the fourth season of the Men’s League, and the second season of the Women’s League.

With eye-catching names like Godwar Hawks, Bagar Bulls, Hadoti Tigers, Mewar Lions, Marwar Rhinos, Shekhawati Riders (all in men), and Hadoti Aces, Shekhawati Storms, Marwar Blues and Mewar Reigns (in women), the NBA/WNBA influences are clear.

The games are being conducted at the Bhilwara Nagar Parishad outdoor courts.

On Day 1 (13th June 2023), impressive pyrotechnics were on display as teams made their way on the court.

While in the women’s section, Shekhawati Storms led from start to finish against Hadoti Aces, the men’s division saw Godwar Hawks, Bagar Bulls and Shekhawati Riders post contrasting wins.

In the closest game of the evening, a balanced Hawks’ team beat Hadoti Tigers 83-77, overcoming captain Harshvardhan’s valiant 33 points.
