Pune to host the 44th Maharashtra Sub Junior Basketball State Championship

Pune, 26th September 2017: The 44th Maharashtra State Inter District Championship for Sub Juniors (Under 13) boys and girls will be held at Shiv Chattrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune from 27th September - 30th September 2017.
The Maharashtra State team for the forthcoming 44th Sub-Junior National Championship to be held at Didwana, Nagaur, Rajasthan from 8th October - 14th October 2017 will be picked after the completion of the tournament. The players selected from this championship will attend the coaching camp immediately after the state championship in Balewadi.
A total of 30 boys and 26 girls teams will be participating in the state championship and the matches will be played on a league cum knockout basis. Last year, the championship was held in Nagpur where Pune girls were the winners and Dhule girls were the runners-up. In the boys' section, Mumbai South West is the defending champs while Mumbai Central came second.
This year, the tournament will be inaugurated on 27th September 2017 in the evening session and will be played in 3 indoor courts set up in the badminton hall in Balewadi stadium.
Cash Prize worth Rs 1,10,000/- and trophies will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the championship.
