Maharashtra Basketball U21 Trials Announced for ABC Pro League
Season 5 tryouts will be held in Nagpur and Pune on 1st & 2nd November and 8th & 9th November, respectively
Mumbai, October 1: In association with Maharashtra State Basketball Association, ABC Fitness Firm has officially announced the selection trials for Season 5 of the ABC Basketball League.
The competition is recognized as the state’s first professional basketball league, providing a structured platform for players.
This landmark initiative is scheduled to tip off in December 2025. It aims to provide a platform for young U21 boys and girls (born in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009) to showcase their skills and take their first steps toward a professional basketball career.
Trial Schedule
The selection trials will be conducted in two cities.
Nagpur: 1st & 2nd November 2025
Venue: Dharampeth Krida Mandal, Shankar Nagar (next to Hanuman Mandir)
Pune: 8th & 9th November 2025
Venue: Rajaram Bhiku Pathare Indoor Stadium, Kharadi
Players can register by filling out the Google form. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited slots available. Only those players who have attended the trials will be considered for selection. There will be no Wild Card entries.
Selection and Auction Process
Players shortlisted from the two trials will move into an auction process, where team owners and coaches will select players to join their squads for the upcoming season. The auction is scheduled for late November and will be telecast live.
However, players themselves will not be allowed to attend the auction event.
The organizers also made it clear that team selection will be entirely at the discretion of owners and coaches, and players who remain unsold or undrafted will not be reassigned.
League Schedule
Following team formation, selected players will participate in practice sessions organized by their respective teams. The league’s latest season has also been designed to fit within the broader state basketball calendar, so players involved in other tournaments will not have to miss out on the action.
Additionally, all participants will be provided with uniforms and essential equipment. The tournament is expected to be telecast live on various sporting platforms, for which further details will be shared closer to the event.

Over the last four seasons, the ABC League has become a reputable platform working towards enhancing grassroots talent. Now, with the league partnering with the state association, it aims to provide a platform for professional opportunities beyond youth basketball.
