Lucknow Basketball League to feature 1v1 category
A Lucknow Basketball League organized by Old School Events is all set to debut an exciting new 1v1 category. The League, to be held at Lucknow University on 29th and 30th April will also feature a 3v3 Open category.
Sixteen teams have registered in the 3x3 categories, while 12 players will battle it out in 1v1.
Currently, the event is only open for Men.
Why 1v1?
This is the first time that a 1v1 category event is being conducted across the entire state of Uttar Pradesh (India's most populous State with around 240 million people).
Explaining the rationale behind organizing a 1v1 category, event promoter Ishan Roy said, "Although basketball is a team game, every baller has his own skills. [So the idea is] just to showcase their skills and hidden talent in front of the public, so that we will know the best amongst the best."
About Lucknow Basketball
Roy went on to add that "basketball is a famous sport in Lucknow" and that his company Old School Events has collaborated with the Lucknow District Basketball Association. This partnership means that "ballers automatically get that advantage over other tournaments in Lucknow and that [LDBA] itself keeps an eye on the talent in the tournament and nourishes him or her for further development and growth in the game."
