Lourdes boys and SH Mount girls win the 17th Sahodaya CBSE Inter school Basketball Tournament in Kottayam
Kottayam, 19th September 2017: S H Mount Public School, Kottayam and Lourdes Public School, Kottayam won the girls and boys title respectively of the 17th Sahodaya CBSE Inter-school Basketball Tournament at the floodlit Indoor Basketball ground in Sacred Heart Public School, SH Mount, Kottayam.
A total of 19 teams in boys and 12 in girls participated in this 4-day event played in the knockout format.

In the boys division, Lourdes Public School, Kottayam repeated as champions, defeating A K M Public School, Changanacherry 37-10 with KR Parameswaran top scoring for Lourdes with 13 points.
Earlier, in the semifinal, Lourdes beat Marian School, Kalathipady 40-31 Â while A K M Public School, Changancherry in an evenly contested match defeated Excelsior English Medium School, Kottayam 33-27.

In the girls division, the host SH Mount Public School won their maiden title defeating Lourdes Public School 24-10.
In the semis, Lourdes Public School defeated Mary Mount School, Muttachira 26-6 while host Sacred Heart Public School, Kottayam beat Marian School, Kalathipady 24-14.
The Trophies and mementoes were distributed by His Grace Mar Mathew Moolakkatt, Metropolitan Archbishop of Kottayam. Guest of honour on the occasion was International Basketball Player, Shri Basil Philip.
