Kerala School Basketball: Titles for SH Thevara and St Gorethios Thiruvananthapuram
Micro Basketball winners AKM School
Babykutty, Changanasserry: Defending Champions Sacred Heart Thevara and St Gorethios, Thiruvananthapuram won the boys and girls titles respectively, in the 4th AKM Trophy Inter-school Basketball Tournament here at AKM Public School, Changanasserry.
In the mini division, AKM School had mixed fortunes as their Micro C Division Bots took the title defeating Jyothinikethan School Alapuzha 42-22 but their sub Junior boys team went down to experienced Shanathaljyothi School from Todupuza 29-37.
Girls Champion St Gorothios Nalanchira.
In an evenly fought boys division final, Sacred Heart defeated host AKM Changanasserry 61-53 with Paul top scoring for the winners with 28 points and for AKM captain Althaf Salim made 24 points.
In the girls final, State Star Sreekala R top scored with 16 points to defeat Jyothinikethan School, Alapuzha 43-21, thereby helping St Gorethios from Thiruvananthapuram to its maiden title in the All Kerala School Basketball circuit.

Earlier, in the boys semi finals, SH Thevara scraped past Silver Hill HSS from Kozhikode 67-65, while hosts AKM School beat Jyothinikethan School, Alalpuzha 46-26.
In the girls semi-finals matches, St Gorethios beat St Josephs GHS, Alapuzha 39-18 while Jyothinikethan got the better of Shanthal Jyothi, Muttam 40-29.
