1st Ever Reliance Foundation Jr NBA Weekend festival tips off in Kochi

Babykutty: Reliance Foundation and the National Basketball Association (NBA) began the first leg of the Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA Weekend festival, a fun-filled weekend basketball activity at SN Public School, Poothotta. The first ever camp in Kerala was a new experience for the children aged between 6 to 10 years.
This 1 day festival had around 470 kids going through 5 interesting basketball skills stations like passing, dribbling, shooting, footwork and game play. The camp was led by Carlos Barroca, the Chief of Operations of NBA India, assisted by JR NBA coaches Joao Rocha from Portugal and Jedh from USA.
The participants after registration were given individual score-sheets after which their scores were updated at the end of every drill.
The festival, which will be free for participating boys and girls between 6-10 years of age, will be conducted two more times on 21st at YMCA Alapuzha and on 27th at Little Flower HSS Koratty. The free entry is to encourage more young Indian children to take up basketball.
