Indian U16 Boys Basketball Team to take part in South Asian C'ship
The tournament will be held in Sri Lanka from August 28 to 31, and features only three teams - India, Maldives and Sri Lanka
After initial doubts over its participation, it is confirmed that the Indian U16 Boys basketball team will be competing in the South Asian Championship.
The tournament serves as the qualifying round to the FIBA U16 Asian Championship that will be held in Doha, Qatar from September 17 to 24.
Like in previous years, India will be overwhelming favourites to qualify from the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) zone, to the continental stage.
Besides India, only two other teams - hosts Sri Lanka and Maldives are taking part.

The team will be coached by legendary former India international Mr Ram Kumar, assisted by Mr Asad Ullah Khan. Mr Ranjan Sharma is the team physio. The team manager is Mr Donald Steven Wahlang. Mr Ralin Joseph De Souza is the head of delegation.
