Hoopers Post Double Win In Opening Day of Mayor’s Cup Basketball Tournament

Poona, 13th Febuary 2016: The Mayor's Cup Basketball Tournament tipped off yesterday in style. The tournament was inauguratedby Sunny Nimhan (Corporator PMC), also present were Mahadeo Nimhan, Chintamani Nimhan, Mr Jayant Kelkar and Mr Lalit Nahata. In the under 13 boys section Dnyaneshwar and Hoopers started off by winning their opening games by defeating their opponents with a huge margin, Shardul Pathak from Dnyaneshwar lead his team with 11 points and Vaibhav Vaishampayan of Hoopers scored 11 points also. In the girls section Hoopers started off by defeating ISST with a huge margin in these league games. In the under 15 games we witnessed these young talent springs up into action as Vidyanchal and Gurunanak grab their opening wins respectively. Results under 13 boys:

 1. Dnyaneshwar Balai Murkute Club 21(Shardul Pathak 11) bt CVSA 6( Nipun Kadam 4 pts) Half time 11-2.

2. Hoopers 20( Vaibhav Vaishampayan 11 pts) Bt Voba 6( Kailash Ranawat 4 pts) Half time 10-2.

Results under 13 Girls:

 1. Hoopers 17 (Sai Jagtap 9 pts) Bt ISST 2 (Maitrayee Jakhalekar  pts) Half time 6-0.

Results under 15 Boys: 1. Vidyanchal 43( Sahil Deshmukh 13 pts, Jitendra Choudhary 11 pts) Bt BNS 20( Aryan Gandhi 10 pts) Half time 20-4. 2. Gurunanak 37( Joginder Sandhu 13 pts, Aryan Nambiar 6 pts) Bt Indira National School 14( Suyog Mahale 5 pts) Half time 18-6.
