Flowternity Sports: Horamavu, Bengaluru’s Newest Basketball Destination
Just like New York's ‘The Cage,’ the facility in Horamavu, Bengaluru, features a 16-foot metal boundary and dunking rims, giving it an urban streetball feel.
In the heart of Horamavu, tucked away just before Green Gardenia Restaurant on Kalkere Main Road, stands Bengaluru’s newest basketball haven—Flowternity Sports.
Opened in January 2025, this new sporting facility is more than just a couple of courts; it’s a dream realised, a vibrant community hub for both amateur and professional basketball enthusiasts.
Drawing Inspiration From NYC's Legendary 'The Cage'
For Flowternity Sport’s founder, Leonard Rodrigues, better known as Coach Leo, this isn’t just a business venture—it’s a deeply personal project. A former basketball player himself, Coach Leo has poured his heart and personal savings into sharing his passion with the basketball community in Horamavu.
He has been involved in every stage of the construction process, ensuring that every detail of the facility reflects his love for basketball. His aim was to create a space similar to that of the legendary ‘The Cage’ in New York City—a modern, high-energy facility where players could learn new skills, develop their passion, and push their limits.

Just like ‘The Cage,’ the facility in Horamavu, Bengaluru, features a 16-foot metal boundary and dunking rims, giving it an urban streetball feel. Just as The Cage has influenced the basketball culture of NYC for decades, Coach Leo hopes Flowternity will become a similar community for rising basketball talent in Bengaluru.
The Show Must Go On
Inspired by his father to take up the sport, Coach Leo, who aims to pass on that passion to the next generation, had hoped to have three generations of his family present to inaugurate Flowternity Sports: his father, himself, and his sons. However, unfortunate circumstances led to his father's untimely death just a few days after the facility could be opened.
He shared, “My father was hospitalized from before and on the same day (launch day), I had to go to the hospital to make a final call on a couple of critical decisions. On my launch day, we learned that he was going to pass away. It was terrible for me because he was supposed to come for the launch, for the ribbon cutting. But his brother came because the story was to have three generations (of his family) to cut one the ribbon.”
He added, “On his dying bed, he couldn't talk much. All that he could say was, ‘the show must go on.’”
Basketball Coaching Sessions’ Timings
Driven by his father’s final words of advice, Coach Leo has dedicated himself fully to Flowternity Sports, ensuring that it not only thrives as a sporting facility but becomes a community for passionate basketball players in Horamavu and beyond.
Though the demands of managing a multi-sport facility have forced him to step away from full-time coaching, he has a team of highly trained coaches to carry on his vision. Flowternity boasts a structured training program with coaching sessions available every weekend from 8 am to 9 am and 5 pm to 6 pm, with a special adult batch on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 pm to 8 pm.
The two full-sized outdoor basketball courts feature high-quality eight layer synthetic flooring and are designed for both daytime and night games. The courts are equipped with towering 20-foot floodlights, allowing players to keep the action going from dawn till nearly midnight.
Facilities Beyond Basketball
Although basketball is the core, the facility also has two pickleball courts, a dedicated area for calisthenics, an area for a skate park and an athlete recovery zone with an ice tub, shower and changing rooms.
The facility also offers coaching classes in skating, karate, calisthenics & yoga.
Coach Leo shared, “The future plans are to have a complete vibe where I see the facility being in multiple use at the same time. So I see people playing basketball on the courts, or a tournament happening and at the same time, maybe a pickleball session happening, and at the same time, I see people training for calisthenics. Also, at the same time, both kids and adults practicing skateboarding. That is my vision which I hope will come true very soon.”
