FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers: India to Take on Iran and Qatar
With India on five points, the national team will be looking to grab much-needed wins against both 28th-ranked Iran and 92nd-ranked Qatar, keeping their hopes of direct qualification intact.
FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers action has resumed, and the Indian men’s basketball team is all set to take on Iran and Qatar. Through two crucial away games, the Young Cagers face will be playing first in Tehran, followed by a trip to Doha, Qatar.
These games will take place on February 21 and 24 respectively.
India, ranked 78th in the FIBA chart goes into the 3rd window of the Asia Cup Qualifiers having lost their previous match (2nd window) to Qatar (69-53) in November. Despite starting off strong, India lost momentum after the first half. However, an 88-69 win over Kazakhstan in the next game helped India keep their qualification dreams alive.

The teams that finish top two from the group stage will directly make it to the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 to be held in Saudi Arabia, the third-placed teams will battle it out in another qualifying tournament for the remaining four places.
