Pune, 6 December 2024: A landmark moment in Indian school basketball is set to unfold as the All India Inter-School 3x3 Basketball Championship, organized by VIBGYOR Group of Schools and endorsed by FIBA 3x3, reaches its grand finale. Hosted at Balewadi, Pune, this event brings together young athletes from across the nation to compete for the title in both boys’ and girls’ Under-14 categories.
The preliminary rounds, which began in October, spanned several campuses of VIBGYOR’s PAN India network. By strictly following FIBA’s 3x3 Basketball rules, the competition set a professional benchmark for grassroots basketball development.
Adding to the excitement is a lucrative prize pool: ₹75,000 for the champions, ₹50,000 for the runners-up, and ₹25,000 for the second runners-up. These rewards not only elevate the stakes but also highlight the importance of recognizing emerging talent at the school level.

With 22 teams from cities across the nation advancing to the final round, the tournament has showcased some of the most promising young talent in the country. Boys and girls in the 14 years age category competed during the earlier rounds, battling on professional-grade plastic surfaces designed to enhance their performance. This nationwide participation underscores the growing passion for basketball at the grassroots level, building anticipation for the championship’s exciting conclusion.
