Can India Break Through This Year?
The Indian women’s team will begin their campaign against Hong Kong on March 26. The Indian men’s team will face off against the Republic of Korea in their opening encounter also on March 26.
The fast-paced nature of 3x3 basketball means every possession counts, and historically, India has had mixed results in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup. The Indian squads have at times displayed flashes of brilliance but often struggled with consistency against higher-ranked teams.
In the last edition, the Indian men’s team gave it their best shot but fell short in the qualifying rounds. The women’s team fared better, making it to the final draw, but ultimately finished in 11th place. While both the Indian Men's and Women’s teams’ past campaigns have their moments, the goal for 2025 will be at least to make it to the knockouts of the main draw.
As the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 action begins tomorrow, Indian basketball fans will be eagerly watching to see if their teams can rise to the challenge.
