Six teams took part, including debutant India, which finished last.

Seven Players from Rajasthan
The Indian roster comprised players from six universities across three States - Rajasthan (7), Odisha (3) and Gujarat (2). The team was selected after tryouts in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, held from 12th to 14th July 2024.
During the tryouts, only the top four teams from Khelo India University Games were invited.
However, players from the top three Khelo India University medal positions: Punjab University, University of Madras and Jain University did not attend the tryouts, for reasons not-yet-known at the time of publishing this report.
Only the fourth-place team from the Khelo India University Games - University of Rajasthan, Jaipur attended the tryouts. But interestingly, among the seven players from Rajasthan - only two were from University of Rajasthan, while the remaining five were from University of Kota.
