67th Junior National Basketball Championship: Day 3
Puducherry, 3rd May 2016: Day 3 action of the 67th Junior National Basketball Championship took place here in Puducherry, at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium. In a high intensity game between a promising Delhi team versus an equally determined Rajasthan team, Delhi prevailed 81-75. In the neck to neck encounter, both the teams went at each other, with their penetrating offense. Delhi forged ahead, as Akash was able to finish easily inside the restricted area and took a two point lead at the end of the second quarter. Rajasthan, fighting for a place in the quarter finals, did not give up and stayed close, but Delhi’s bench rotation helped them get a wider lead at the end of the third. Still behind, Rajasthan’s star player Mohmmad had a high scoring game but did not connect in the later stages, as the Delhi team sealed the deal for their second consecutive win in the tournament.
