33rd Kerala State Youth Basketball Championship 2016: Day 1

Koratty, 12th August, 2016: Thrissur registered an 49-17 victory over Kannur on the opening day of the the 33rd edition of the Kerala Youth State Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls here at the twin floodlit indoor basketball courts of Little Flower HSS, Koratty.

The championship is being organised by Koratty Basketballers, with the support of Thrissur District Basketball Association under the auspices of the Kerala Basketball Association, from 12th to 16th August 2016. The championship will features 14 districts in boys and 13 district in girls division, which will be played on a League cum Knock Out basis.

In the girls division, Idukki beat Kollam 31-10 and Eranakulum defeated Malapuram 28-12. Kozhikode drubbed Pathanamthitta 34-2 and in boys, Pathanamthitta had an easy victory over Kasargod with the score being 61-16. Palakkad defeated Kollam 26-19.

Shri B D Devassy Chalakudy (MLA), inagurated the championship.
