1st Akshay Bhosale Senior District Championship to tip off in Pune from 20th Nov

The 1st Akshay Bhosale Cup Senior District Championship for Men and Women conducted by Poona District Basketball Association along with Deccan Gymkhana Club to select the Poona District Men and Women teams for the forthcoming State Championship, will be held at Millenium National School, Pune from 20-25 November 2015.

The latest date to submit entries is 19 Nov 2015. Draws will be held on 19 Nov 2015 at Deccan Gymkhana Club 12.00 am. Tournament will be played on league cum knockout basis. Interested teams should contact Mr. Lalit Nahata 9822259458 for further details. Teams should not theat matches will be played in both morning and evening sessions.

Akshay Bhosale, was a 24 year old promising basketball player from Pune. Akshay had played in numerous tournaments across the country, with large success, and had the potential to be one of India's best players ever. Unfortunately, he died in early 2015 due to a cardiac arrest after collapsing during a jog in the BMCC Ground and is a player that Pune misses greatly.
