1st Akshay Bhosale Cup Champions!
The Finals of the 1st Akshay Bhosale Cup Senior District Championship concluded on the 23rd of November, at Millennium National School, in Karvenagar, Kothrud, Pune.
The women's category champions: Sardar Dastur Sports Club
The Sardar Dastur Sports Club defeated PYC by 29 points in the one sided (women’s category) final, to be crowned champions. They had three players in double figures. Leading the onslaught was the “scoring machine” Shruti Sherigar with 15 solid points, closely followed by Sneha Rajguru with 13 and Pupali Tripathi with 11. The three combined for a total of 39 points, enough to outscore PYC by themselves!
The Men's category champions: Central Excise
In the men’s category, Central Excise took home the trophy in a 12 point victory over Akshay Bhosale Academy ‘A’, 67 to 45. Behind a scoring outburst of 25 huge points by Siddhant Shinde, in an example of scoring when it matters most right there, taking control of the game and leading his team to a huge win!
Women's Finals
Sardar Dastur Sports Club 61 (Shruti Sherigar 15, Sneha Rajguru 13, Pupali Tripathi 11) beat PYC 32 (Shreya Dharmavat 12, Shireen Limaye 10)

Men's Finals
Central Excise 67 ( Siddhant Shinde 25, Pradeep Chauhan 12, Edwin Irvin 10) beat Akshay Bhosale Academy 'A' 45 (Bryan Kavakure 15, Yusuf Sayyed 12)
Half Time Score 31 - 15
The championship recognized only two of its best players in both, men and women’s categories, namely Siddhant Shinde and Shireen Limaye despite great performances by several other players like Shruti Sherigar and Yusuf Sayyed, to name a couple.

The prize distribution was presented by Mr Anvit Phatak (Director of Millennium National School), Mr Laxman Bhosale and Mr Omkar Kadam (a former National Player). Also present were Mr Shekhar Date (also a former National Player) and the Superintendent of Central Excise Mr Mathew Selam.
Best Player for the Women's category : Shireen Limaye
